Denise
Denise career to date has taken many routes, but over a thirty year period she has worked predominantly in the fields of nursing, health sciences education, homoeopathy, traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture. Initially, Denise started her career working in the field of AIDS and HIV during the 1980s pandemic. Following this, she travelled to India and South-East Asia where she encountered homoeopathy for the first time. Moving from the West to the East immersed her in new understandings of health and wellbeing, which later informed her decision to study homoeopathy with the Irish School of Homoeopathy.
As a homoeopath, Denise had a busy practice in Dublin with a focus on women’s health and paediatrics. Her holistic health practice acknowledges that we all require time, treatment and care to restore and maintain our mental wellbeing and physical health. During her busy career, Denise studied at University College Dublin and completed a Masters Degree in Equality Studies. This led her into a new and innovative career in health sciences education. She is also a member of the Teaching council of Ireland.
Denise’s commitment to become an acupuncturist was guided by both personal and professional experience, as well as a belief that health and healing are not only housed in Western methods of intervention and treatment. Denise has completed post graduate TCM study in the field of IVF and the use of moxibustion.
Her areas of acupuncture treatment are women’s health, gynaecology, pregnancy, menopause and mental health. As an acupuncturist, Denise is grateful for the opportunity to practice and impart the benefits of her knowledge of acupuncture and Chinese medicine to her patients. She is a professional member of AFPA, which provides regulations of members ensuring high standards of treatment and strict codes of ethics and practice.
Denise is available on Thursday afternoons and evenings
